The Witches Rye’d · Saturday, October 31, 2026 · Rye, NY
Dust off your brooms (bikes), witches!
The Witches Rye’d is back and this year we are riding for Hamish's Difference. Join us on Saturday, October 31st.

If the broom fits, ride it
Join us in your best witchy attire as we ‘fly’ through the streets of Rye! Encourage your family and friends to line the route and cheer on the witches as we cycle past and toss candy to the little ghouls. Stop by one (or more!) of the official Witch Houses along the route.
If the broom fits, ride it. Get creative, be spooky, and go all out! Of course, there will be prizes for the most magical looks and ‘broom’ decor, as well as fun raffle prizes.
Limited spots are available for cycling witches, but broom-less witches are also welcome!

Code of Conduct & Informed Consent
Every witch is required to agree to the Code of Conduct and Informed Consent at Givebutter checkout.
Witches Ride Code of ConductOctober 31, 2026
In the spirit of Hamish’s Difference, we want the Witches Ride (the “Event”) to be fun and safe! It is important that all “witches” know, follow and consent to the guidelines below (the “Code of Conduct”).
- 1. Safety First! We strongly recommend all riders follow the appropriate bike safety rules, including wearing properly fitting helmets and biking appropriate footwear.
- 2. No drinking and biking! Consuming alcoholic beverages or illegal substances during the ride is strictly prohibited.
- 3. Obey all traffic rules and follow the designated route. Ride predictably and maintain a safe distance.
- 4. Be respectful of your fellow witches, volunteers and motorists.
If a “witch” is suspected to be in violation of any of these rules, the Event committee reserves the right to request such witch fly away on her broomstick and never return! Failure to follow the Code of Conduct may also jeopardize future attendance at a Hamish’s Difference event.
We hope this will be a fun annual event for many years in memory of Hamish Fenton. Happy Witching!
